"A friend first introduced me to the Yoga and I knew from the first class that I would continue to practice this Yoga for the rest of my life. I went to the training because I knew that teachers practiced for free and the thought of learning from the source was undeniably intriguing. I truly had no intention of ever teaching. However, Craig was my Director of Teacher Training and he insisted that I teach at least one class to complete the circle of Teachers Training. I taught my first class and before I made it to the door from the podium, I knew I had found my calling, or better yet, my calling found me."

"I took my first Bikram class in Arizona while visiting my friend. I was very physically active in college and was looking for something to keep me in shape post college. I took class and really enjoyed it. I returned home to Michigan and decided to keep practicing while I worked in corporate America. That fall I entered law school in Bloomington, Indiana and was distraught that there was not a Bikram studio there or in Indianapolis where I lived. Then one day, I decided to withdraw from school and applied for the Fall 2006 Teachers Training in Los Angeles. I left Indiana, life as I knew it, and never looked back."

" I arrived in Arizona in 2004 after finishing a tour with the Broadway show "Bring in the Noise Bring in the Funk". I did a few shows in a few years. I was part of the creative teams of a some prime time TV Dramas and several motion picture films. The tour concluded my 15 year career in Film, TV and Stage as a Wardrobe Supervisor. I moved to Los Angeles for one final project, I settled in Palm Springs, I related to the Mid Century modern style of old Hollywood. By this time my sister Alison and husband Jeff were in AZ, shortly joined by my parents, I was turning 40 years old and having another shift in a paradigm. I wanted to be closer to family. I contracted a severe case of Valley Fever which was complicated by strokes and I was in and out of hospital for months. With the good doctors, family, friends and prayer I have made a near full recovery. I practiced yoga on the Lower Eastside of New York in the early 90's and danced with choreographer Mikki Williams of Charles Kelly Studio. Being in the yoga room takes me back to hours of rehearsals, creating, fixing, and learning. Alison and I were talking about my recovery and physical therapy and she suggested I restart my yoga practice after therapy. I was so full of bad toxins, medication and bad habits it was total hell. I am not the most disciplined yogi but I can't deny the results, I know that I will practice for the rest of my life, valley fever is chronic and bikram is my medicine. I am honored to be a part of Bikram Yoga East Valley and to be able to return to work for the first time in nearly 10 years. "

"Well hi there! I'm Tiana (AKA the creator of this newsletter) and I practice Bikram yoga. I am an honors student with a 4.0 GPA, which I intend to sustain through high school since I would like to become a Harvard Law Student. I also work at the amazing Bikram Yoga East Valley! I love theatre, anything dancy and musicy is what I do. And because I love music, I wrote a song about Bikram...which you can find on YouTube by searching 'Tiana Marks'. On top of that, I play three instruments (piano, flute, and guitar) I am a chef (Both chef and pastry chef) I own two small companies (Like a Flower Petal Blooming; on etsy and Wanna Pop Customized Pop Art Images: wannapop.webs.com) and I am an artist (Oil paint, Acrylic paint, and a pop art designer). I look forward to seeing all of you at the studio ! :)"
